Large Caissons

In this project, our task was to develop a construction sequence for large caissons designed to surround the piers supporting a bridge for the train between Gambla Stad and Slussen in Stockholm. The primary objective was to optimize the construction of the caissons to ensure their effective sealing. This sealing was crucial to facilitate the subsequent repair of the piers, which involved adding an additional 500 mm layer of concrete. The optimization process aimed to achieve a robust and watertight construction for the caissons while ensuring the successful repair and reinforcement of the piers.
